Men’s Division Trainer

GENERAL SUMMARY:

BSF international is seeking an individual with strong training proficiency/ talent, program management, and significant leadership skills to fill the fulltime role of Men’s Division Trainer.  In conjunction with BSF’s Training Division, the person will have major responsibility to develop and present live training to men while building and coaching a team of HQ staff and male field trainers. The person will have significant responsibility to develop and update multi-media training resources while building, delegating to and coaching a male field team who assists in production of training resources.

 

ESSENTIAL TO THE POSITION: 

  • Perform duties under minimal supervision and supervises training and program development/management in the men’s division
  • Supports the Director of Men and assists with non-project manager work in direct support of the men’s ministry
  • Supports the Director encouraging collaboration, excellence, and engagement while inspiring and motivating others to accomplish strategic goals for the men’s ministry
  • Leads training events, build teams, and develops leaders of varying aptitudes
  • Develops new or modify existing resources for BSF male leaders and contributes to the creation and development of new men’s models
  • Demonstrates excellent personal skills building and maintaining and developing friendly, trustworthy and open internal and external relationships and networks with people important in achieving strategic goals
  • Excellent training/business skills are required in training, planning, management, budgeting, and analysis
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and critical-thinking skills, as well as an ability to balance the work and relationships integral to this project

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan, prioritize and oversee training /program development responsibilities in an effective manner to include:

  • Essential gifting, skill set, wiring and passion for training and coaching AND team building and interpersonal skills
  • Reduces complex concepts and skills to basic steps for learners
  • Makes strategic decisions based on observations in real time
  • Communicates, demonstrates and facilitates practice of skills
  • Effective presentation/public speaking skills
  • Effective vision casting
  • Produces clear and effective training materials and resources
  • Able to accurately assess understanding and current skill level of the learner
  • Able to accurately determine appropriate individual development plans

  • Supports the development, field testing and implementation of men’s division project and program ideas, employing cross-functional teamwork
  • Under the direction of the Chief Training Officer, develops/manages detailed men’s division training and tracks progress to program completion
  • Uses appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Supports cross functional matrixed teams to solve highly complex work critical to the organization
  • Identifies and develops IT requirements to support training/program objectives

SKILLS, QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:To perform this job successfully, an individual must:

  • Possess a BA/BS in management, business, human resources, training development or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Possess at least five years of professional trainer/program management experience
  • Experience to develop or assess training materials that will help trainees understand the subjects being taught to understand the needs of the customer and judge what will work
  • Experience deciding the best programs to train trainees and meet the needs of the organization
  • Experience managing to deliverables and milestones: on time/within budget/meeting business needs
  • Experience with administrative and professional writing/reporting/presenting skills
  • Experienced use of computers, multi-media equipment/software, and experience with Microsoft Office
  • BSF leadership or class participation is preferred
